LucyLynsted
Hi I have 18 hens, and collecting between 11 and 16 eggs a day. I have recorded the amount of eggs each day and have got very excited to watch the numbers go up as the younger ones (which I hatched) have started laying...Very rewarding. However, over the last week I've had a couple of instances where an egg or two has been covered in 'egg' they're nice big eggs and the 'egg' (which is like a beaten up egg) is only around isolated eggs and there are no other remnants in the nesting boxes. At first I thought maybe one of the other hens had accidentally trod on an egg, but having no mess anywhere else has made me dismiss that theory. Could this be something that sometimes happens in the egg making and laying process? The eggs are fine, I just wash off the outside! Any advice and experience would be much appreciated as this is all new to me! Many Thanks
