shelless eggs laid

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

Can anyone advise. We have a 1yr old hybrid light sussex who over the last week has been off colour one day right as rain the next. Yesterday seemed lethargic then ruffled up her feathers and laid a shellless egg in the garden next to me. Today she was her usual feisty self then 1hr before bed lethargic again, took herself off to bed early & laid another shelless one. She looks a little dazed. I've wormed with Verm x regularly. She's eating & drinking well and this morning no signs of illness? I do wonder what is going on. She has done this once before last weekend which we put down to fluke or potnetially eating something she shouldn't free ranging?

Please advise.

Many thanks Laura & Nick

This does happen sometimes. If they have only been supplemented with Verm-x I think it would be a good idea to worm them with a course of Flubenvet. Also make sure that they are not having too many treats, have plenty of fresh drinking water and a good quality mash or pellets (make sure they are in date  ). You could also add a general tonic such as Lifeguard.
