Chezza13 Posted April 17, 2011 Share Posted April 17, 2011 Can anyone tell me where I can buy iodine and other medications in Chelmsford Essex as my hen has been brutally mated by my roo and has cuts on her back and under wings as fairly servere as she had already been plucking that area,also more advice very welcome. Plum Posted April 17, 2011 Share Posted April 17, 2011 Iodine will clean the wounds but I think could sting her. My vet gave me Dermasol for a chicken wound in past. Purple spray will also keep it clean or veterinary powder. Do the wounds need a stitch? The vet could do that and keep an eye out for infection which the hen would show by becoming inactive fluffed up and head in shoulders etc., The anti inflamatory will help her.
