speedqueen
Please can someone give me some advice please. My hen has no feathers underneath her tummy, where her lovely fluffy egg warming feathers were, and she also has bald legs on the inside near the tummy. She looks like she's been plucked! she seems fine in herself. She is just a year old and lives with two other girls the same age, but they are fine. No feather loss there. The only thing we have done differnt is this..... we have a new hen who has been living in the house since we rescued her as a week old chick. (She is now 11 weeks) Over the past couple of weeks we have been slowly introducing her to the girls. Over the last couple of days we have been putting her at the side of the run in her own coop so they can see each other and get used to her being there. When we have put them together (just one to one with each of the girls seperately) they are ok for a while then now and again attack her, pulling her feathers and pecking her face. They even took a bit of a nip out of her beak at the top and made her bleed! We also went away for last weekend (Thurs to Sun) and my mum looked after them. Is she stressing? because of the chick or our absence? Or does she have a problem? she was fine yesterday! thanks.
speedqueen
I have noticed this morning that she has a blue/green patch of skin on her right leg about the size of a 2p It looks like a bruise? she isn't limping though. Any ideas anyone please?
