stoice
Came back from dog walk this morning to see my two girls finally using their dust bath. It's an old butler sink I had put in their run months and months ago. The first night it was there they were too scared to walk past it to go into their house, silly things. I persevered by throwing in seed and they gradually accepted it. I'd put diatom, play sand, wood ash and old compost in there and they still kept using it as a glorified seed tray Yesterday I chucked in the root ball and dried compost from two hanging baskets I'd left in the shed all winter for them to scratch at. Seems it must have done the trick as my once white Blanche now looks a little grubby to say the least. Never a camera around when you need one! poppy ben grace
Good for them! Sometimes it seems our efforts to make life more pleasurable for our chooks are a waste of time, but at least it seems this time your efforts have been rewarded(and not just any old dustbath a butler sink dont you know!).
