Pro - Does anyone else's nest boxes get soaked in rain?

We got 5 ex-batts last June. 2 died quite quickly and the 3 remaining stopped laying about a month ago. 2 questions... Can I do anything to encourage them to lay again? And if not, could I add 2 hens in to get us some eggs again? And if so, any advice on what type? We had ginger nuts before and they were excellent layers. Must be toddler friendly birds...

 

Any thoughts?

I am sure I will be corrected if I am wrong... But you cannot do anything to make them lay! I have 2 ex batts and i have 2x amberlinks, 2x hyline and 2 x lohman browns. I think if you get some youngsters you should be fine!

I'd worm them, to make sure this isn't the reason why they are not laying, and limit free ranging, so that they tank up on pellets.

 

I have all sorts of different breeds with my ex batts, and they all get along well enough.
