Poorly chicken - not sure what it is...

Recommended Posts

Hi, hope someone can help.

One of my Wyandotte's have had a rattely chest for ages now, never getting worse or better. I've had I have always put Citrocidal in their water. Last day or so she just seems 'off'. I would catch her just sitting, tail slightly droopy, and looks like she can't keep her eyes open from tiredness. She is also a bit more rattely, and now every so often gives a high pitched squeeky cough. She also opens her beak really wide, sometimes a few times in a row, with a bit of head shaking. She doesn't have any discharge from her nose or gunky eyes. I don't know, but my gut instinct is telling me that she is not well and maybe not with me for much longer. My girls are due a worming session soon. Shall I just do it know and see if it helps? I thought I would put her in my 'hospital' cage, and see how she goes.

Any advise or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks x

Mmm, I think so too, because two of the others are now coughing every now and then! Not impressed... Found one not far from me, I really hope it is not going to be too expensive :( Will they give me a prescription without seeing the chicken you think?
