Hi everyone

Well i still need to put the roof on my WIR, havent been too pressured what with the lack of rain!

I have my pannels with weldmesh ready & need to get some coregated PVC

Now do i put the weldmesh in place flat & then angle the PVC or have you all angled the whole lot?

Is there a special way of screwing through PVC wihtout it cracking?

Does anyone just have clear tarp on their roof? as i still have mine from the cube WIR & i think it would fit

I've recently completed my WIR with corrugated plastic roofing. To drill it I used a wood drill, the type with a sharp point projecting. Make sure the hole is on the peak of the ridge and make it larger than the screw fixing. The fixing is a special type that I got from Wickes.........I used 200 on my roof.

I don't fully understand your question about the weldmesh but the roof does need a slope. The roof must be firmly screwed along it's length and width.

BTW do not attempt to construct your roof on a windy day..............I did and nearly did a 'Mary Poppins'.:roll: As it was it took a heavy plank my drill and hundreds of screws over next doors garden.

The roofing drills easier when its warm so shouldn't be too many problems this time of year. I used a metal pointy dibber to make the starting hole then used a drill bit like Ian and no problems.

You make the holes slightly larger than the screw you are fixing it on with so that it expands and contracts with extremes of weather and use a plastic cap to seal it. Like these screws and caps . You drill into the mountain and screw it down until the washer just turns, pop the cap down and done. None of my caps have come off using this method. :D

The sides of our run slope up by a couple of inches to the front so were able to just screw the frame onto the run. Otherwise you would need to run a baton to raise the front end and maybe some in between, then fix the roof onto that. I think that some runs have a mesh roof straight onto the flat top then a sloping frame on top of that :?
