s-sankla
Hi Omlet Community, I am excited to finally pulk up the courage and embark on a new voyage of discovery...the raising of chicks into chickens. I have read a lot and I am still confused...I need some advice on what I exactly need to do.. My situation...I am going to be given 2 chicks (2-3weeks old)..and I have bought a wooden coop so far... Questions: What should I buy before the chicks arrive? When do I transfer them into the coop? Where do I look after the chicks before I transfer them in the coop? Is bedding different for chicks and chickens? Is cleaning a daily or weekly task? Anything else I may have missed? I do appreciate your help in getting me started..I am at a very basic stage but keen to learn and not to make any fatal mistakes..
karlotta
Well done on setting out to do the research before getting the chicks. There is an excellent guide to most of what you need to know right here... http://club.omlet.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=61&t=46122 Hope this helps! Egluntyne
It would be a good idea to have a plan in place re what to do with them if either of them turn out to be cockerels.
