Our Smudge (dwarf lop earred) is about 4 or 5 years old.

 

Never had any problems with him before as far as trying to "mate" is concerned. But now he often tries to mate or follow our one chook around the garden. He leaves the other chicken alone as she just pecks at him.

 

Most of the time they are fine. Bunny has never been "done" because he's been ok up until now. And now he's old, I dont really want him to have the op.

 

Anyone else encountered this with chickens and rabbits?

Derek (my old rabbit) used to mount my runner ducks , It became a little distressing for the ducks

so he was neuterd and stopped doing it. I did giggle when i heard this quacking duck and looking out to see

I think Arthur's time has come, he is getting very amorous with poor Ruby, who just looks bored with the whole business... surprised tho, he's only 12 weeks
