Green Tea
My broody has successfully hatched two of her six eggs but the other four show no signs yet. I know that it's possible for them to take longer than 22 days but I candled them this morning and alhough I can see air sacs in a couple of them but the rest of the space doesn't look very dark inside at all ......... should it be more obvious if there was a chick inside? Might possibly seem like an stupid question I know, but I've never done this before! If they are no good I would quite like to get them out of the nest and let Gretel concentrate on raising the two chicks she has.

Green Tea
Thanks Leanne I checked again and from what you said they were all definitely duds (I did get my dad to crack them for me to be absolutely certain - so that I will be more confident judging them in the future ) At least now Gretel can get on with the job of raising her chicks and not worry about sitting on eggs any longer
CatsCube
Can I be nosey and ask at how many days the other two hatched? I have pekin eggs under a broody too, and just wondered if yours hatched at the 18 day mark.
