its all going wrong! murder most fowl

Recommended Posts

my broody buff had come off her eggs for a quick feed...I went to check the eggs and found some broken and one missing (found later outside the run) and a Dorking hen in residence. Dorking has been removed, remaining eggs wiped of yolk and returned clean but my buff has not returned to her eggs...been 25 mins now...:(

It should be ok, my Cochin was off for thirty mins at one point when I had to catch her and lock Her in the coop to help her realise where she lived! I'm sure you've thought this, but it would be best to let her sit undisturbed and away from others, particularly as they hatch.

All the best.

i just didn't expect murder...its all been fine up until now!!!

Only 2 polish eggs left tho which is very sad as those are what we really wanted to hatch..

the other eggs are Orpington dad and sussex or dorking mum...ah well will just have to wait and see.

I tried to move her when she went broody before but she wouldn't have it..abandoned the eggs after I let her out (we waited 5 days with her locked up) she returned to the cube and began to sit again..so have just accepted that its brooding in the cube or nothing!!
