jackie45
I am not certain if this is the right place to put up this topic. We are cleaning out a wooden hen house and have discovered a wasp nest high up in a corner. My husband reacts badly to wasp stings and we are not certain what to do.Two of our new hens live in the house, the others in the Eglu. At the moment they are still not the best of friends so it might be a bit iffy to try to put them together at night. Any advice really welcome. Olly
Are there wasps flying? It's a little early for wasps nests, is it one from last year? If it is, then it is certainly empty and you should be able to just bash it apart. They build a new nest each year, and don't return to the old one. If there are wasps flying in and out, then I'd suggest you contact a licensed contractor who can destroy them safely. Your local council can probably suggest someone. chuckmum6
Maybe a cautionary spray with wasp killer, just in case there are any occupants. It should be empty, but it would be worth having something to get them with if there are any in it. Good luck
jackie45
I should have said the nest is not empty and they are buzzing around. Jackie
