Heidi-Hi
I've just hatched a chick from a white silkie. The only cockerel with her when I bought her was a darkish Frizzle. The chick is a dark slate colour with a bit of cream on its tummy and under the chin. It has four toes and clean long legs. Does this sound right? I know it sounds like a stupid question, but the egg was in an incubator at my sis-in-law, and I wonder if it got mixed up with her Appenzeller eggs. The egg itself looked different to hers, but still...

Heidi-Hi
Mmm, on closer inspection there are very fine feathers coming along the side of the legs. I thought they were born with feathery feet? Ooh, I can't wait to know what they are going to look like
Redwing
They should hatch with feathery legs, it sounds like yours had a clean legged dad so it will probably get the odd feather on its legs but they wont be full on feathery
Heidi-Hi
I was told the dad is a Frizzle. Have they got feathery feet?

Heidi-Hi
He/she is soooo cute! Wish I knew if it was a her or a him. I am already so attached, it is hard to think that if it is a boy he will have to go
