tiks
Sorry if this has been asked before, but I have 2 batty old ex battery hens who stopped laying ages ago and it's a bit like having Hinge and Brackett living in the garden. I've also got 4 younger ex batts who are still laying. The main diet for all of them is layers pellets with occasional treats (corn, granary toast, sweetcorn and grapes being the most popular). Should I be feeding my old girls a different base diet to layers pellets?
sparkysmum
I have an ancient ex batt too but I give them all the same. Mostly layers mash (wiggly wigglers) but with Garvo grower pellets thrown in sometimes cos I ordered some by mistake. Mixed corn in the afternoon and whatever she gets f/ranging.Oh and pasta, potatoes, cooked veg................whatever is lying around
Redwing
Layers pellets are fine and much easier as you are feeding several If you only had old chooks then I'd have suggested growers pellets
