Will 2 broody mums share? not sure what to do! and lime poo

Recommended Posts

Clown (broody partridge orp) hatched 3 chicks. :D Well, she actually hatched more but trod on them :(

She was still sitting on 2 eggs and was not looking after her 3 chicks well (infact she was squashing and treading on them)so i removed the 2 eggs from her and candled them.

One was a dud.

One seemed to have something in, but as it was 2 days after her first hatch i decided to pop it under Lunar (my broody blue orp) who managed to hatch it

Now i have Clown in the (pink eglu) with her 3, and Lunar in a dog crate in the garage with her 1. My other 7 hens are in a (cube purple) .

Can i put the 2 mums together?

Should i take the chick from Lunar and give it to Clown?

I think that may be mean on Lunar as she seems so happy and pleased with herself hatching an egg in a matter of hours!

Also. Clown ate 4 dud eggs and has managed to give herself lime green runs! :vom: Is this normal? is there anything i should give her to settle her tummy?

Many thanks :D
