egglicious
I have seen this question asked many times but couldn't find it on this forum. Just wondering what bantams you all consider to be the best layers? Thanks!
Redwing
Most of the 'light' breeds will be good layers- leghorns, Minorcas, Anconas etc.. They are reasonably flighty as a rule though Heavy bantams such as Sussex, Rhode Island Reds and Wyandottes are also good layers and may make more docile pets but are more likely to go broody Any pure breed will slow down if not stop laying in winter
hennyjenny
My light sussex are good layers of a white egg. They laid through the winter. Only stopped when they moulted and when they went broody! They are nice and quiet compared to my LF Welsummers who didn't lay through the winter but they haven't gone broody. You can get Welsummers in bantams for brown eggs. bostock422
pekins, Bardu D'Ucles, Rosecombs and Sebrights all lay less that 125 eggs a year (I know you didn't ask who lay the least, but I thought I'd through that into the mix )
