auntielizzie
Out of my two girls, it is Bessie (Rhode Sussex) who seems to lay the most eggs, rather than Betty (Columbian Blacktail). Bessie lays 6/7 days, whereas Betty probably 5/7 but occasionally 6/7. I thought that Columbian Blacktails were meant to lay more eggs than the Rhode Sussex. Does anybody know if this is correct? Incidentally, Bessie does seem to eat more in the way of pellets whereas Betty tends to scoff all the treats. Maybe I should really really cut down the treats. I think Betty holds out for the treats as she seems to be ravenous for them and Bessie hardly gets a look in. Which are the best treats to give - ie should I lay off anything other than mealworms and corn as treats, giving more protein treats than carbohydrates (ie stop pasta completely). Where do raisins and grapes fit in?
