dixie chick
I have read about some of you doing this - but to be honest, I was a bit queasy about the thought of it - so it was with great reluctance that I was forced into tackling the matted mess of poo that was stuck to the rear end of Susy-Woo - my silver-laced Wyandotte - who happens to be broody ( I think they produce particularly nasty poos when broody) I gathered her up out of the Broody cage and took her into the kitchen where I had a bowl of warm soapy water and a hair dryer ready. She was sooooo good - I'm sure it must have been such a relief, and her poor little bot was red and sore, so after gently blow-drying her feathers I squirted some purple gentian spray onto it. She looks SO much better - even with her purple fluffy knickers. SO fellow Omleteers - give it a try if you have been putting it off - its not as bad as you think! Just try to time it when you are NOT expecting anyone to call - the sight of you blow-drying a chickens bottom may worry some people!
