chuckmum6
My Pekin mum has definately become disinterested with her chick now aged 4.5 wks. She gobbles all the treats herself and generally ignores her little baby, she has also laid two eggs. The one good thing is the chick is nearly fully feathered, I had Intended to join this chick with the other I have that are currently 8.5wks old, but hadn't intended to do it yet. I am not too sure how they would react to the chick now, nor am I too sure how long mum will tolerate the chick, she hasn't hurt it yet. Any ideas? Redwing
Tricky I'd keep the chick with her for another week or so if there is no agression being shown which will give the chick a chance to feather up some more I'd then separate off one of the older ones, introduce them and then those two back to the other older one Generally I have had no problems with mixing growers, they are normally pretty chilled out towards each other but doo supervise closely
