mpchickens
Hi, I was all set on getting an Eglu cube and just found out that it won't work well for me because of the slope in the garden. Besides, the the green is sold out until Dec! Argh. I was ready to give up and get a conventional coop but the "hygiene" factor just sounds so appealing! So, I am considering getting 2 Eglu Go's. But the attached run isn't going to work for me either. Does anyone have any experience putting the Eglu Go's in enclosed runs built like a box say 4 feet wide by 6 feet long and 4 feet high? Any pictures, advice and experience you can share? Does the Eglu go come apart completely with ease for cleaning? To be candid, the main reason I am looking at the Eglu is that I am getting silkie chickens which are prone to mites. The eglu price tag is super hefty! I just want to make sure that I am getting the full benefit of the hygiene factor I am trying to optimize on. Thank you so much in advance. Ain't Nobody Here
There are loads of us who have eglus on tables/raised platforms inside walk in runs - have you seen these photos? They might give you inspiration . I have a Classic rather than a Go but the Classic is easy to dismantle for cleaning. A power washer is a great way to clean any nooks and crannies . Olly
If you're going to build your own run, I would go that bit further and have it full height so you can walk inside it. It makes a huge difference to the ease of looking after your chickens.
