egg colour - interesting fact

I was just browsing the latest BHWT newsletter, and it had a great feature on eggs (how they're made, why they soemtimes look different etc etc).

 

anyway, it said that bald chickens often lay paler eggs!! so I suppose the conclusion is that feather density has some affect on shell colour.

 

I had noticed that my ex-batt eggs had shells ranging from white to pale beige, and I had been expecting them to lay brownish eggs....
