Chortle Chook
My usual source for Garvo food, Newland Poultry, are off on holiday and I've missed the boat for ordering some Garvo treats. Does anyone know of another supplier that does mail order of garvo food, or an alternative product? It's the dried moluscs that my chooks so love. dixie chick
Try R.H.Miller. Google for the web-page. They are in Scotland but very reliable for mail order.
Chortle Chook
Many thanks, dixie chick. I've put in an order. Needed to order a few packets to make up for the £5 delivery charge but that's just fine
SarahCavy
I recently purchased a (12Kg or 15Kg?) bag of Garvo Alfamix Chickens and to me it looks exactly the same as the small bags of treats. Has the dried shrimps in and everything. I give mine a couple of handfuls every day and they do love it! Depends on how many you have I guess but even with just a few I do seem to get through it. Chortle Chook
I used to use Garvo Alphamix and you are right it is very like the treats but also has pellety bits in there, which I think is supposed to provide their main sustenance. I found that my chooks just picked out the treats and left the pellets so now I use Omlet's Organic food (the crumb type stuff in a greeny sack) for their main feed, and add a table spoon of Garvo treats and a table spoon of Wiggly's Bokashi to each of my Grub sections, then mix well in.
