tracyann
Ah, well you all knew that I would end up squeezing a few more chooks, my current hens "outside run", which they don't use has been fox proofed and extra locks and bolts, Alcatraz has nothing on the bolts and locks on this run!! Anyway, on the shopping list currently are six new hens: 1 x black rock 1 x wyandotte (LF) 1 x barnvelder 3 x ?????? whatever takes my fancy... The nursing home lost one of their speckeldies, it was very poorly and staggering around and loosing its balance so it had to be euthanased, but we are taking someone from the home with us and getting them two hybrids. Will post photos ASAP tomorrow!!!

tracyann
It all depends what I fancy when I get there, the pure breds are so expensive, £25.00 each, I'm hoping to get growers, I thought they would be a bit cheaper... I fear I will end up with more hybrids than pure breeds, I'm entering lots of competitions to win an incubator so I can hatch my own... (Just have to convince Mum that is the way to go!!)... Chortle Chook
Invest in a Silkie and you won't need an incubator They are the most maternal little critters out and will sit on absolutely nothing if you take their eggs away I've heard people get them to hatch out ducks and all sorts of birdies.
