Comtemplating nose piercing, anyone used Bioplast Jewellery?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Yes,I used that sort of thing in my Tragus for a while, but it had healed by then.

Before that I had a screw-on clear plastic ball that just went onto the piercing,& was hard to see.

My youngest uses those clear nose thingys for school & they are very hard to see,and I think she had one put in as soon as she had her piercing done.

As you know,I was contemplating my nose being done & would have had to use a bio because of work, but have decided against it now anyhow.

Hiya,

I've got a 5 facial piercings - including my nose !

If you ask your piercer about getting it pierced with a 'keeper' they'll know what you mean and suggest jewellery accordingly. Generally though, good quality jewellery that is made to last comes in a larger gauge and means you can't necessarily achieve a glittery sparkle appearance, as this puts the piercing at risk of shrinking and closing :(

but you can still get some very nice, slightly more discreet jewellery! Bioplast is the same size as many standard nose studs - I prefer surgical steel or titanium though to be honest! They're just as teeny and just as comfy. Just my 2p there :)

Plastic is good for, as they suggest, hospital visits, or in my case when I was on excavations doing magnetometry surveys and wasn't allowed anything metal on my person in case it skewed the survey results!

You're never too old! I had my tragus pierced (after seeing Cinnamon's example :D ) as part of my 50th birthday celebrations.

However, I recently bought a labret from that very site, with a metal stud and a bioplast backing. The suppliers are excellent, and the jewellery arrived really quickly - but as mentioned elsewhere, the bioplast post is very small. Fitting a labret stud into a teeny, tiny plastic tube with some force, on a part of the body (tragus) that you can't see well in the mirror is not easy! They are still residing in my jewellery box. It might be easier on a nose piercing, or maybe you could get a friend to help.

I have a bioflex nose stud just like the ones you linked to. Originally it was pierced with a smallish ear-piercing type stud which was straight and didn't have a butterfly. I couldn't get on with any of the metal screw type nose studs that I wanted, I just couldn't get them to go in. I don't have a problem with the bioflex one, I chose one which was as clear as possible and I have a rarely used retainer too.

That will be because you were pierced with the wrong kind of jewellery - also the first time you take out and change your jewellery it should smart a little bit, make your eyes water, it'll have healed a bit tight around the jewellery. You should never be pierced with a thin straight post on your nose.
