FuturistFi
One of my Dorkings (I have 5) seems a bit under the weather today. Molly the hen appeared to be coming out of a broody stage yesterday, but this morning I found her sitting in the nestbox and when I got her out, she was very subdued and nothing like her normal squwarky self when removed from the nest. She's eating and drinking, but her comb is pale and she just doesn't have her usual zest for life. She's just sitting around, fluffed up with eyes closed or part closed and looking unhappy, where she'd normally be leading the gang on another attempted rampage of my veg patch (if I didn't have it fenced in). I've had a look at her and there doesn't seem to be anything amiss that I can see. I know it's a long shot, but any ideas about what might be making her so under the weather? All the others appear healthy.
Christian
Maybe a soft shelled egg on the way? Keep her warm (not too warm) and hopefully she will pass it. They usually are back to normal once it has been laid. If not, then a trip to the vet?
FuturistFi
Thanks Christian, She was bit better this morning, but now it's raining, she seems a bit down again. She's still eating for an army though so I'm hopeful it's nothing too serious. If she gets any worse, I'll be off to the vet straight away. I'm hoping she'll perk up tomorrow. Many thanks again.
