I posted yesterday about my sick 14-16 week bantam. Unfortunately she went downhill fast and died overnight - looks to be Cocci as there was blood in one of her last poos. Everything scrubbed and disinfected today. I got 2 bantams about 6 weeks ago to rear with a view to putting them in with my 3 large girls. I still want to do this but having only one chick now (who is on her own in her own house) I am wondering if I should get another chick of a similar age a) for companionship and b) so that I am not introducing a lone bird to the exisiting flock. Advice please.

I'd leave it a week then do another clean out then yes I would get another bantam the same sort of age, they tend to be ok when introduced young and two will be far better off when it comes time to merge with the rest of the flock
