chickenopolis
Dolly has been with us for about 7 weeks and last week mad rush to the vets with what I think was an ear infection, she was shaking her head and losing her balance. She was bought at POL, and had flung out the occasional egg, but she seemed to stop doing that about 2 weeks ago. Anyway, vet prescribed Baytril and she has been on this for a week now (just finished) and she is back to her lovely cute squeaky self. According to vet we need to discard the eggs for 28 days....would you believe it.....she's only firing out an egg every day now. They are wonderful small, hard shelled eggs, and when I pick them from the nest box it is still warm...... Oh well, at least Dolly is getting better, but I apologise to her every time I collect and egg and have to throw it away.

chickenopolis
Thank you. I also wormed her last week, just to be on the safe side, which may have resulted in her starting egg production again. I do worry about them all, silly isn't it - one of my friends said would I rather spend a day with my chooks or my husband....I said don't make me chose, but we all know what the answer would be
