I am thinking of getting an automatic door opener for my shed run, I have a pop hole into the shed (pulley type door) and would also need the battery timer. I have a few weekends away coming up and need to know Freckles my cockerel is not out in the run waking up the neighbours, but can't rely on sons as they often stay out at friends after work. My question is how hard is this to fit ? I am not electrically profficient

Hi, I have the VSB pop hole opener and timer as sold by Flyte so Fancy etc.

It was very easy to fit the opener - just a matter of attaching it to my WIR with screws, attaching the cord to the door, putting the batteries in. The timer was easy too - it has a cord with plugs that attach to numbered pins on the pop hole opener. Setting the time is a matter of turning a dial and pushing in/pulling out some plastic levers representing time different times of the day (it's similar to those electrical plugs one can buy for leaving appliances on for certain hours of the day). Both come with complete instructions (and it is possible to download them from the VSB website).

Hope this helps!

Hello

We saved up and bought one about three years ago-it's a fantastic invention! It makes life so much easier for our neighbour when we go away and we also find it really useful in the winter when we don't always get home before it gets dark. As alet_chicken says installation was very straightforward-just don't be tempted to use cheap batteries from poundland!

Hope this helps!
