Yolk and Blood in poop

Recommended Posts

Whilst cleaning my coup this morning I noticed that one of my chickens (Snowdrop) had yolk and blood in her poop. She has finished been broody and has been laying normal eggs for the last couple of days .... she is eating and drinking okay today ... I'm presuming it's an egg that hasn't worked properly ... does anyone think it's something more serious .... hope not .... Thanks Sue

Hi,

Thanks for your reply - checked coop this morning and there is just normal poop - she seems happy and eating and drinking ..... it would be good if she lays an egg today though - I guess that would help flush anything else out (Silkie chicken so might not) ... should I wait until she does lay one ... if she is pooping normally would that flush stuff out as well (only had chickens 4 months or so quite new to all the little problems they have).

Very grateful for all advise. Sue
