willyhorton
hi guys, we have 5 ex battery warrrens, but wanted to add to our flock, so we went out and got an 8 wk old bluebell and an 8 wk old sussex star hens, .. we have them in seperate penns, but they can still see each other throught the dividing chicken wire fence.. we just wanted some advice on at what age would it be best to put them in with the warrens. ? also i have 2 pekin bantam chicks that are 4wks old, what age are they best to go outside.? would i be able to put them in with the bluebell and the sussex star that are already seperated from the warrens.. many thanks simon
fluffy chick
I would wait till they are at least pol before tring to introduce them. You are doing the right thing letting them 'see' each other through the bars b4 this. IMO I would say the chicks are ok to go out now but won't be wanting perches yet. I have added large foul to bantams but wouldn't want to do it the other way round I'm afraid esp as they as so much younger. If they were mine I'd plan to keep the bantams separate. fluffy chick
Confused as to why I'm 'allowed' to say POL rather than point of lay, but I'm not allowed to shorten 'in my opinion' to IMO ?! Any way I'm pleased you found that useful.
