Finally - a walk in run

Recommended Posts

2 weeks ago we bought a walk in run on ebay, it took 4 people 6 hours to take it apart and 2 weekends of swearing and cursing to get it together again however Lolly and Meg now have a new home. They were a little puzzled about climbing a ladder to their eglu house (green eglu) , however some strategically placed sweet corn seemed to do the trick – we will see what happen when they go to bed tonight.

Unfortunately yesterday when we were assembling the walls Lolly flew 6 feet up and then about 12 feet down again. We think she landed badly as she is limping today. Hope she improves, we feel a little bad as she has to go up stairs to bed.

Delighted they have some space now as they have to stay in a run all day when I am at work

That sounds great, having a walk-in run makes life so much easier.

I wouldn't worry about the limping too much. One of my new girls got chased by the top chicken the other day and then I realised she was standing on one leg and holding the other one tucked up underneath her. I checked it, and she wasn't flinching when I touched it and it seemed to be moving ok, so i left her to it. Within 24 hours she was fully weight-bearing again - keep an eye on it, but they do sprain and strain things sometimes and it's usually not too serious.
