Thebecks
i have a 20 week old wilty cuchoo hen who is not herself, i purchased her a week ago with 3 other hens who are all fine. she sleeps most of the time and has a cough, i can not see any runny nose or anything but have noticed dioreah but cannot say it was definitely her or not. she doesn't run away like the others do or follow them around and when i picked her up to check her over i noticed she smelt bad where the others don't. i called the breeder i brought her from and he said to try some cider vinegar, any other advice would be appreciated? thanks
Green Tea
Hi When you say she smells bad .... is it her breath or the other end?! Does her crop feel ok? Is she eating and drinking? Also, when she's just breathing normally does she open her beak at all? The acv is a good idea as it may help to pick her up but won't cure anything if she's genuinely poorly I don't think. Egluntyne
Sounds like infectious coryza. The symptoms fit, especially the smell. I'd remove her from the others for now as it is contagious, and either return her to the breeder or take her to a vet for a definitive diagnosis.
