Found an advert for some buff orpingtons near me looks great but one question, and i hope the answer is no -

 

do they fly?

Most ducks can fly but a lot dont usually actually do it

 

The Buff Orpington is quite a heavy duck and isnt known as a flier but do at least keep them confined while they realise where the coop is (a week or two) and then only let them out with supervision in case of predators

 

They are very nice, its a shame they arent more popular really

The Buff Orpington is a hen not a duck (I have one) and provided you clip one of the wings to unbalance them they cantfly also they are a heavy hen so all they should do is rummage around .

There are breeds of both hens and ducks called Buff Orpington.
