hilda-and-evadne
I promise not to open the incubator! But I am willing the little chick to keep at it. Hope that more than one will hatch but I know that things can go wrong even now.
Griffin
Come on little chicky! I've got some Leghorn eggs under a broody due on Saturday. She's a foul tempered madame, has killed a couple of eggs already (including the only Fresian Fowl egg she had yesterday) so I daren't disturb her. I'll be standing with my ear to her coop hoping to hear some noise from the chicks!
hilda-and-evadne
Come on little chicky! S/he must have heard you - s/he is fully hatched, moving head around and looking very alert. It's pushed the two halves of its shell aside and is trying to get upright (it's on its back) with a lot of cheeping. Pushed one of the other eggs aside. Not opening the incubator but hoping it can get on its feet, soon. Edited to add: and s/he's the right way up. I had to walk out of the room , I couldn't bear to watch.
