Happy Mrs Chicken
One of my hens has had a mucky bum for a couple of days and this morning she layed a normal egg but there was a bit of blood on it and a bit on the straw in the nest box.I have just given her a bath and can't see any signs of mites, maggots or blood.Could a mucky bum be a sign of worms? I am going to start worming with flubenvet today and going to put some mite powder on aswell. She is eating normally and seems ok in herself. Egluntyne
A mucky bum can be a sign of worms. Starting her on Flubenvet is a good idea.
Happy Mrs Chicken
Went to collect eggs this morning and my hens bum was covered in blood had to take her out as other hens were pecking her.I bathed her again and while i was blow drying her she did a poo and her insides seem to pop out i think she may have a prolapse? Going to take to vets today. If it is a prolapse can anything be done?
