Has anyone shabby chic painted a brass chandelier?

I have found some instructions but just wondered if someone had tried it and what where the results like.

Well I painted a wall light that was brass coloured does that count? I used a can of white car primer left over from about 15 years ago and then a can of black car spray paint from pounland. I just wanted to see how easy it was and I was pleasently surprised. I have now bought a couple of ceiling lights to do but I need to buy some more paint and decide whether I'm spraying them black or cream.

I've started it now, Four thin coats of spray paint.

I have got some crystals to hang from it so just need to drill some small holes to attach them to.

I'll post a photo when complete.

I didn't take a before photo but it was a plain brass chandelier very outdated.

This is an after photo, Spray paint from Aldi, Crystals from Ebay.

It looks really lovely you must be very pleased. Is the paint cream? Do you know how much it cost? I'm trying to find some cheap cream paint. I can only find it at about £6 per can. I know that is really mean because £6 would be nothing compared to the transformation but I always get more of a buzz the less it costs me.

It was about £3, they had a range of colours when it bought mine around 4wks ago.

It's finished off my hallway beautifully, I'm just looking for a big canvas print (or maybe paint one myself).

Thanks I'll have to see if I can find any cheap paint in Aldi.

 

Just think how much you saved yourself. Well done. Be sure to show us if you do paint a canvas, I know I couldn't do that.
