chickenopolis
Having exhausted varies types of layers mash, the 4 girls have now decided that the layers mash I get from the local pet shop (which I have established is layers mash from the wholesaler Copdock Mill) is the one of choice. I only got one 3 litre bag incase they didn't like it But...they really eat it - not like the others I have tried, at which point they just pass it by and don't eat it - they actually eat it all. And I am now getting 3 eggs from 4 girls (which is not bad odds in our household - Flo having given up "this egg laying business" several weeks ago! I get this from a pet shop in Stony Stratford and having asked, was told that they get this from their Wholesale Supplier Copdock Mills. Just wanted to recommend this to the forum. Now, all I need is a remedy for them to stop pooping on the kitchen floor - pooping and then stepping in it and spreading it ALL over the floor, that would be good. Any suggestions.......??? cavysqueak
We get our pellets from the same pet shop! Its a small world. Our hens love the food. We don't let them out to free range until after lunch, but our best layer goes back into the run to eat the pellets throughout the day. Do you live locally to Stony? We just live over the river. chickenopolis
We also get their mixed corn as well - would recommend this as well - again girls mug me for it when I get home (that and sultanas - I swear Dolly will take your arm off if she doesn't have a few sultana's every day!!! ) We live in Great Horwood - about 8 miles away, but Stony is such a nice place for shopping I go there regularly. Can never pass a charity shop without a quick rummage - you never know when a chicken picture will be just laying there waiting for a good home.
