Southcoastchickenfan
Hiya I've found two bugs and I don't know what they are - can anybody help? They are tiny, maybe an 8th the size of a ladybird and look a lot like a tiny tiny ladybird only they re black with a white spot in the middle. We recently returned from a 10day break to find the coop covered in redmite - we saw grey ones in the early evening coming out from the felt and 'sand' eveywhere. I spent two days covering it in powders and sprays and then we gave up and bought an Omlet Cube on Saturday. Since then I've been changing the bedding everyday and dousing it in powder and spray as well as putting louse and mite powder in the chooks favourite dustbowling spot. Do you think it could just be the remnants of redmite or do you think it's something else? The chooks seems fine, combs might be a little pinker than usual (but I might just be looking too hard!) but they are happy, hungry and laying an egg a day. Just the thought of bugs makes me scratch! Thanks for your help Caroline
Southcoastchickenfan
Something I forgot - their poop has had a pinkish tinge to it - almost as though there was a pinkish liquid over i that dried?
Egluntyne
The pinkish tinge to the poo is just coral coloured urates. Quite common and nothing to worry about.
