the-marks
3 weeks after introduction, things had finally settled, until today when one of the new girls (Joan) has been obsessed with pecking feathers from around the vent of one of the old girls (Barb) and eating them. (I'm going to apply purple spray tomorrow when OH is around for assistance). In the meanwhile, I wondered if anyone has got any ideas why this is happening? I've just wormed them all and checked Barb over today - and she seems ok. Theres no blood. She's eating and active as normal, but not laying as frequently as she used to. She about 15 mths old, a hybrid, so I guess this could be the beginnings of her moult. Would that account for the pecking by Joan? Or could it still be the pecking order sorting itself out? Any advice / thoughts would be really appreciated. Many thanks Mark
