I have a beautiful 12 week old silkie chick. She has integrated well with my laying hens. However, she will not eat growers pellets. She is free range and likes a good variety of s"Ooops, word censored!"s. She doesn't seem to eat the older ladies layers pellets.

either starve her of treats until she eats or try growers mash for her

She will come round, she won't starve. I have recently changed pellets and the hens made such a mess trying to find any of previous food. After 3 or 4 days of being on hunger strike they are eating again! Some-one said the taste may depend on what the coating on the pellet is to hold them together.

Growers mash is fantastic . Thanks so much for the advice. Took ages to find someone who stocks it. My layers also think it's wonderful
