Chooks Aloud
My daughter, who loves fruit, unfortunately has a very bad reaction when she eats it (starts swelling etc). She is okay with cooked fruit as cooking it kills off the enzymes that affect her. I was wondering if I got a dehydrator and dehydrated the fruit, would this have the same affect as cooking, thus making it okay for her to eat? Christian
I react to most fruit too (fresh) but seem to be ok with dried. Apples are one of the worst for me, but dried apples are fine. Maybe buy some different dried fruits and see how she gets on?
Saronne
Be careful..lots of the commercially produced dried fruit is treated with a chemical (sulphur dioxide) that preserves the colour and some people can have an allergic reaction to it. Olly
I have this too (oral allergy syndrome) and I'm usually ok with dried fruit.
