Worried chook could be egg bound????

Recommended Posts

Please help.

We have 2 chooks, Phyllis and Vera, who we decided in the last day to get a another one, Ethel. Who's not been welcomed with open arms by the 2, so we currently have the girls split up, but close, so they can get use to each other.

At about the same time, Phyllis has stopped laying, we didn't know if was darker days, starting to moult etc, but today when we looked at the chooks, we could see phyllis lay and egg, but it was just the yoke, with some discharge, and what looks like conjealed blood, and we can see a little blood on the feather around the vent.

If anyone could give us some advise, as we don't know if its stress, could it be shes starting to moult, can the eggs go like this? should we take her to vet?

eagerly waiting for feedback,
