Craggy Bottom
Hello, I have been given 3 chicks that are about 6 weeks old. To date I have only had chicks from POL age. So what do I feed these new chicks until they get POL? Thanks for any help Dawn. PS I think they are Marons
Redwing
Normally chicks go on to growers pellets at 6 weeks old, they stay on these till at least 18 weeks but mine stay on it till they lay their first egg, the extra protein will be beneficial to them as they will be growing over winter so will need all the help they can get to grow well

craftyhunnypie
I do exactly the same as Redwing. I'd take any advice from her - she's a great chicken teacher! Redwing taught me to use wood pellet cat litter for them. Best thing ever for chicken dancing, flying about chicks. I also stand my drinkers on a fire brick to stop them flicking stuff in it. Chicks can soon mess up a lovely freshly cleaned out brooder! Emma.x
