xChicken04x Posted June 17, 2007 Share Posted June 17, 2007 hi eveyone! i was just wondering can foxes bite through chicken wire? at first this seemed a good idea to build our chicken enclosure out of but then some people said that foxes can bite through it. so our next plan was to buy plastic-coated wire and i was wondering can they bit through that? thanks for any replies. JohnP Posted June 17, 2007 Share Posted June 17, 2007 I used chicken wire for my run, but have strengthened the lower area (up to about 3 feet from the ground) with weldmesh. It can be hard to find decent sizes of wire/mesh, so have a look at MeshDirect. FWIW, I used half-inch chicken wire to keep small stuff out, and 2-inch weldmesh to keep Mr Fox out.
