mad hatter Posted December 1, 2011 Share Posted December 1, 2011 I am getting quail next year early sometime but before this can happen still need to build a run , ahhh help I think I have a plan but tell me what you think! I am going to have a walk in chicken run and attached to that will be a walk in quail run with a large rabbit run inside for them to stay warm in winter. I have seen other people with this set up so I thought would be ok? Also what flooring should I put down, for the chickens there will be wood chip but I don't know what to use for quail. I am having paving slabs under the run to make easier to clean and then flooring on top I'm very excited and can't wait at the same time as getting the quails I am getting some baby chickens Please add pictures and any tips and advice Thanks Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Lewis Posted December 9, 2011 Share Posted December 9, 2011 Hi, Welcome to the forums The quail will be fine in a smaller run inside a WIR - jsut don't mix them with the chickens as chances are they will get pecked, and they can't be let out to FR as they will fly away. Just make sure they have a coop cover to keep them warm and dry Wood chipping will be fine as a bedding, as would something like Aubiose!
