Magimix and Marmalade

Just made my first batch of marmalade of the year and decided to be lazy and chop the peel in my Magimix, although the marmalade is lovely the peel isn't in its normal nice slivers that I get when I do it by hand. I just used the blade in the Magimix but now wonder whether I would of got better results putting it through one of the slicing discs? Has anyone any experience of doing this? Or any advice on the best way to get nice slivers of orange with minimal effort?
