KateC
Doris my little columbian blacktail has consistently laid good eggs since we had her last year. However, yesterday she laid an unusual one with very rough, discoloured shell. Today I realise she has laid one without any shell, only yolk and a fair bit of blood. I am concerned about her although she is eating normally and doesn't appear ill in any way. I give the girls some greens every afternoon and corn although she is a bit fussy about what she will eat, avoiding the cabbage and only eating the grapes!! I have put some lifeguard in the water today and put some grass tops in for them after cleaning them out this morning. I wonder whether the recent drop in temperature may have something to do with it too as she is the smallest chicken I have. Any other ideas please, I would be grateful for some advice from more experienced chicken owners. Thank you so much. Kate
BizzyMomma
Do they have grit/shell to eat as well? Might just be a "blip" in her system...
