kitbag
Hi guys! Just a quick question really! My sister left school about 3 weeks ago, in the middle of her first year of sixth form. She is 16 years old, and has plans to go to Champneys college to become a beauty therapist in Septermber 2013. Until then, she needs to find a full time job, but no one is willing to hire her for more than 8 hours a week purely based on her age. I know that work is very difficult to find at the moment, but she has a great CV and already works one day a week at a leisure centre, however they have no extra hours for her. I was just wondering if anyone had any advice or knows of any companies that take on younger employees? Thank you in advance! Cinnamon
Waitrose does. It may only be for about 12 - 15 hours a week, but she can easily boost that with overtime. A lot of the college kids work pretty much full time from the overtime book during college holidays. She could also look for seasonal work over Easter or the summer in places like Lush,Hotel Chocolat, Boots etc. You are in Reading aren't you? There is an 'Eat' opening which Priceless shoes used to be......... And also a Patrisserie Valerie opening somewhere in town. I would also look at local cinemas, theatres (the Hexagon?),Rivermead & the 2 big Tescos in town.
