hammy72
My ladies had their wings clipped when I bought them from the farm last July. Might they need doing again soon? It's just that they've suddenly learnt to fly! This morning one leapt over their fence and landed on my labradors head!! Luckily all the dog training I did at the start payed off as both dogs just gave it a sniff and left it alone.
percy049
You clip one of their wings, as this unbalances them so they don't fly. You clip them after every moult, when their feathers grow back
Millihelen
I am not convinced that the wing clipping does much at all. Mine definitely jumps to take off (bend legs and then stretch up with all her strength!) The wing flapping that follows might propel her forwards a bit - but its the jump that clears the fence!
